It is critical in today’s modern data centre that the environment is monitored and controlled accurately, as stable environmental conditions are vital to ensure reliable and constant operation.
Consider the impact of losing mission critical servers due to over-heating!
Comrac offers a staged product solution approach for monitoring the network infrastructure environment, from the granular level of individual racks within the mega data centre, to room level monitoring for smaller computer rooms or server cupboards.
By understanding the density and dynamic nature of the hardware; integrated management tools, systems and reporting can be deployed to monitor & control key elements such as temperature, humidity, power and airflow etc, while combining safety and security aspects to ensure:
- Optimum capacity planning
- High availability of all mission critical systems
- Low risk ICT infrastructure
- High value ICT investment is managed & protected successfully
- Compliance with environmental requirements
Environmental monitoring devices
Also known as rack monitoring devices, these help ensure minimal downtime by actively monitoring the conditions in your rack, server room, data centre or wherever you have critical assets that need protecting. Strategically placed monitoring equipment will give you a clear view of the total picture, which coupled with suitable alerts, will provide ample advance warning before conditions become critical or out of control.
The Hawk-i2 rack monitoring unit is a web-based device allowing users to monitor power, temperature, humidity and security with a range of available sensors. Network communication via SNMP raises alarms if user-configured thresholds are crossed. Hawk-i2 has 6 PDU ports and 12 sensor ports.
An optional remote LCD display unit is available for rack mounting for easy viewing of monitored conditions, plus network configuration & firmware version.
More compact, the Power-Hawk TH monitors power (2 ports), temperature and humidity. The Power-Hawk2 has increased flexibility as the 2 analogue/digital inputs are suitable for a range of sensors.
Although it is far more effective & efficient to incorporate environmental considerations at the planning stage, retro-fit is always possible. Please contact us to discuss how we can assist you to control your data centre environment.
